Malloy: Malloy collects vintage tackle boxes. His favorites are the old rusty ones that he finds tucked in the back bins of roadside antique stores. Often the boxes still have old gear in them: tattered fishing line, dirty bobbers, tangled flies. Sometimes they even include additional random findings--an old matchbox, a tab from a can of beer, a weird metal doo-dad of unknown origin, even (once) a locket including a black-and-white photo of a young woman's water-stained face. He loves the history of these things and imagines--decades ago--the original owner proudly buying the gleaming new tackle box at a general store with fishing adventures on his mind. More recently, Malloy has added a few new plastic boxes to his collection. Honestly, these aren't very interesting and he does not need them, but he has a crush on the creature-gal who works at the local sporting goods store so occassionally he buys a gaudy new plastic box in hopes of chatting with her. Her name is Lucy and she doesn't seem to mind his shy attention. Once he gets his courage up, he plans to ask her on a picnic where he'll pack his favorite tackle box with fancy cheese, grapes, homemade bread, and sparkling water. Wish him luck. [See creeature Lucy for her perspective.]
Materials: He is made from a sock and is filled with polyfil and some dried beans to give him some weight. Eyes are plastic beads and recycled hardware. Butt is vintage metal button. A small black recycled button for his belly, and metal bells for his ear tips. (The linty look is the polyfil poking through the sock and is less noticeable in person than close-up photos.)
Note: He does best when propped up against something.
Size: In sitting position (butt to top of ear bend) he is about 6 inches. With legs extended, he's about 11 inches. Arm span of 4.5 inches.
Shipping: $12 (US shipping only. I currently do not offer international shipping.)
Shipping Info: I take creatures to the post office on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Once there, your creature will ship USPS Priority Mail, which generally takes 2-3 days. A tracking number will be provided once it's at the post office. (If you order on a Tuesday or Thursday, it might go out the following shipping day.)
Please note: Because creatures have small parts that could pose a choking hazard, they should be kept away from small children and pets. And, while I pride myself on their quality, they are handmade and designed to sit next to your computer or on your nightstand. They’re not for young kids or rough-and-tumble play. Please look at the size dimensions of a creature before you order as photos may make them seem smaller or larger than they actually are. Each creature comes with a printed copy of their story. Thanks for looking!
Anne's creatures are silly, weird, and awesome. Each one has a unique personality and just wants to love and be loved.
