Merlin: Merlin belongs to a clan of mostly shy nocturnal creatures. However, Merlin is a boisterous extrovert who rarely sleeps and enjoys constant engagement. For this reason, he often hosts late-night soirees for his shy creature friends. He encourages them to write poetry and then tsubmit it anonymously into a decorative wooden box that Merlin designed and made specifically for this purpose. And then, every couple of weeks, he does dramatic readings of the poetry to the delight and muffled giggles of the creatures who sit on the edge of their respective burrows while listening. During the day, while his creature friends sleep, Merlin plays poker with the squirrels (who cheat like bandits but are good for a laugh and for their ludicrous embellished stories).

Materials: Recycled sweater, plastic eyes, scrappy recycled button for butt, metal beads, beads, and polyfil.
